Biometric Time Clocks as a New Trend of Feasibility, Efficiency and Accuracy
Biometric is a technological tour de force in human authentication technology. The use of biometric have been adopted in many research, development and real-time application including time clocks machines.
The evolution of time clocks can be freshly reminded from the scratch use of the old clock card machine or punch card until the new era of electronic time clocks machine which use magnetic card to store and scan employee’s unique identifiers such as staff number or user id.
In biometric time clocks technology, human physiological and biological features such as fingerprints, retina, voice, DNA and other biometric behavior are used as an unique identifiers to improvise the accuracy of employee’s authentication.
Biometric can be considered as the new trend in time clocks industry as it can increase user feasibility, efficiency and accuracy of the system. Biometric time clocks can eliminates few major problem existed in traditional time clocks machine such as the availability of employee’s card (staff forgot card or card missing) and fraud clock in or clock out or best to be known as “buddy punching” in an organization.
